Cool to see everyone who made it on Saturday (and pffft to those of you who didn't make it)
Lamed out of doing chores yesterday to go to the flicks. Due to timing (and the fact that they're due to disappear soon) I ended up selecting King Arthur and I, Robot. TBH neither were quite as bad as I has anticipated.
For KA I thought the scripting for most of the characters was cool, and the fight on the ice was particularly well done, but although the costuming was ok it was otherwise pretty shoddy in the context of *real* history...
For I, Robot Will Smith reigned himself in quite surprisingly to become a evidently human element to an otherwise cold, technocratic vision of the future. Of course, it wasn't remotely like the actual Asimov story, and the CGI robots did grate towards the end, but still *shrugs* looks like genius compared to something like Demolition Man...
Tsk, both films could have benefited immensely by having their names changed to suit the actual stories, as opposed to the works they were supposed to be based on... *sigh*
Not much else to tell otherwise. Have weighed up a lot of my EBay stuff and will probably spend most of my evenings this week putting them up. Looking forward to the bank holiday weekend, which should see two days of prolonged gaming and then probably another trip to UGC on Monday to catch one or more of Bourne, Riddick and The Village...
