Heh my house mate hired Kill Bill pts 1 & 2 on Saturday and he really hated it. In fact, he wouldn't stop moaning about how disappointed he was. I did warn him beforehand that he might not like it that much, and I did try and explain afterwards that whilst the second part was a bit slow and overall the films were playing fast and loose with the editing, it was technically and visually gratuitous on purpose, and that Tarantino was just having a bit of fun as a film geek, but he wasn't having it. Basically because it wasn't identical to Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction and there were no twists in the tale, he thought it sucked. Tsk. For someone who claims to have so much imagination he really does do my head in some times...
Also yesterday wandered about with my friend Jason sorting out his stag thing. Thankfully it's not going to be a lame beer'n'tits affair, rather a day out in Brentwood karting, dry-slope-skiing/snowboarding and then sampling a few pubs before heading for a curry. Should be a good day, if a little heavy on the wallet...
Actually rather concerned as well now for two reasons -
a) I've got shed-loads planned in October, including Jason's wedding in Scotland, a trip to Nottingham, GenCon UK at Butline Minehead and the Fortean Times Unconvention across Halloween
b) Paying for all this is going to be a nightmare, and my credit card balance is already swelling like a very scary balloon
Luckily I do have plan though. Since I rediscovered Ebay recently I've realised I can probably square things off by selling loads of tat I've got at home. This also provide the additional benefit of making space so I can get my place in a better order.
Hurrah
Now I just need to spend stupid amount of time sorting, photographing and uploading everything I want to get rid of...
