Haha crazy me. Today I chose to abandon my plans of creativity and productivity and headed for the UGC to do some cinematic catching-up on my lonesome. Managed to time things perfectly so I could catch four films back-to-back. And it didn't cost me nary a penny to boot!
The Passion of the Christ
Well it managed to capture the feel and context of the period quite well. It's just a shame it was completely devoid of narrative structure, and that it puports to represent real history (whereas the story presented is far from being historically accurate). Some pretty grim moments. Kudos to Jim Cavaziel though for carrying the role well.
Shaun Of The Dead
Ludicrous, touching, and terribly British. Excellent fun.
Starsky & Hutch
One big movie joke that plays out quite well, but it certainly isn't Ben Stiller's best. And Snoop is shit, why couldn't hire a real actor with more charisma?
Dawn Of The Dead
Bears only a passing remblance to the original, and it a lot darker, more unpleasant and more fast-paced too. Zombie pregnancies anyone? Yeuch. Ving Rhames rocks though.
Hope everyone had fun today. I'm sure I'll catch up with you all soon.
