Hamster update: In less than a day he's back to himself in many respects, and he's still weeing, so (without wishing to jinx it) I'll think he'll be ok (for now). Given his age, and the fact it's happened twice now, I think the special diet and the regular squeezing/massage is going to be long-term thing. Poor little bugger 
Not much other news from me - it's only bloody Tuesday after all. Was quite amusing though to find my housemate still dressed and face-down in the living-room carpet this morning when I came down. Apparently he was out until 3am with his toff/wideboy workmates. Tsk. Young people of today eh? You'd think they'd know better than to get mashed on a school night...
