On the geek side of things, today's V:TES event took forever and the final dragged out until nearly 10.00pm. Came third myself in the end, which was better than last week. Win goes to the Setites though the sleazy buggers. Hung around for a few beers and played some weird game where you flick racing cars around a shiny track to see who can win. Got the board game turned around last week although it took way longer than expected. Now panicing about the Pirates! LRP I agreed to write and run next weekend, and haven't typed a bean so far...
On the music front popped into the sale at Virgin this week - still no Breed77 the bastards but ended up getting the new EP by The Dillnger Escape Plane featuring Mike Patton. Man that's some crazy s*** what the hell do you call it? Not exactly easy listening but definitely a grower I think. Also picked up a cheap copy of Vex Red's album, which is pleasantly surprising - somewhere between Deftones, Feeder and Silverchair. Now kicking myself that I didn't get it a year ago when I first heard about it. Still pondering over Thrice, Thursday and Poison The Well but my budget isn't going to stretch that far for a while.
Also thought I'd mention that I've finally found some new sci-fi TV to get excited about! Sky have shown two episodes of Dead Like Me so far, and it's really cool
Kinda a post-modern thing about ghostly grim reapers that's full of quirkiness and irony. Hopefully it won't get axed like all my other favourite shows of late (Firefly & Haunted). Guess we'll have to wait and see...
