I know I've been long overdue for an update but to be honest the mundanity of my life has put me off. In fact it's probably not even that bad, but sometimes find it hard to believe that anyone might be interested... *shrugs*
Well if you're still with me you may have already noted that I'm due to hit the big three-oh pretty soon. Not that it will feel any different from normal, but psychologically I suppose it is quite a milestone. I'm now older than my parents were when they had me and my brother. I also pretty sure that everyone else in the history of my family were married at my age. I guess I feel a bit like Paul Giamatti in Sideways - I'm approaching the halfway point and it feels like I've achieved absolutely nothing of real value. I'm still full of ideas, and still have yet to put much into practice. My job has been entirely random and not something I ever would've chosen to do, and a career change isn't the easiest thing to do when you've got mortgage etc. to sort out... *sighs* Not that I'm looking for sympathy or anything - I think the whole bewilderment thing is fairly commonplace for types of my generation..? *shrugs again*
But, since it is a big one I am actually trying to make some sort of effort. I've booked up some hydrozorbing for using those tickets I skaffed off XFM last year - possibly the most pointless thing I'll ever do but should be a laugh especially if there's beer involved. I'm also planning to gather people in ol' London town so if you're in the vicinity and at a loose end and would like to buy me a birthday beer I'll be at the Shakespeares Head (Weatherspoons, near Holborn) Fri 2nd (and possibly out rocking after). Otherwise I may see you anyway at the SGUK meet in Nottingham the day after...
Not much else to report really. Still working on the kitchen, watching films, playing EVE Online. Faffing about, the usual stuff y'know. Guess I'll update again when I'm on the other side of the hill...
P.S. Anyone want to go see Lostprophets or 36 Crazyfists?
