What is it with bloody electricians? You ring and leave messages that are never returned. Or you get some girl straight out of school who doesn't have a clue what you're on about. Or you get snooty middle-aged woman who says you have to pay 40 an hour just to get someone to give you a quote. Or you finally speak to someone sensible and then they don't show up when they're supposed. For gawd's sake. Anyone would think they didn't want the business... *sigh*
Anyone who's not put off by acts of extreme geekery is welcome to check out my pictures folders for the latest updates. Anyone who might be slightly perturbed are advised to steer clear...
But anyway. Last weekend I went to Nottingham. Was due to meet up with some people that I don't actually get on that well with these days but there's quite a history there and I couldn't back if I wanted to (I booked out hotel rooms. This did mean though that I ended up scoping out the Travelodge in advance of SG:UK shenanigans there in June.) As it turned out things weren't that bad. We went to Forbidden Planet (cool), GW (scary) and Rock City (shabby but a laugh even if they did play Green Day every fifth track). Lots of food lots of beer, and thankfully no punchups (it really is a long story). Now I just need to catch up on some sleep...
This weekend I'm off to Romford to spend ~600 on tiles. Then I head home to strip some wallpaper before heading out again to catch up with SisterVigilante for her bday. Sunday will be spent recovering and then more stripping. Ugh. Further ahead I have a trip to Burton, a trip to Rugby and then lots of kitchen action. B&Q had a fire which means the delivery is a month later than planned, but this is actually good thing as it means I don't have to panic (yet) and they're giving me 10% back for the trouble too...
