Those of you who noticed the oblique references to Star Wars, Hoth, Wampas and polystyrene over the last couple of weeks may be interested to see the final product of my efforts:

The last couple of weeks have been pretty crazy and it's nice now to take a little breather.
For Halloween I was helping Hasbro at London Expo where I got free hotel and beer, cheap toys and an excellent Chinese meal. I also got Bruce Boxleitner's autograph (hurrah!) and got to hear him answer some fan questions on the stage a little later. I also ran into doplex there who seemed rather bewildered by it all. TBH I was quite impressed with the amount of cosplay action and in particular the high percentage of cute teenage girls...
Last week for Guy Fawkes I was again whoring myself for Hasbro this time at the GenCon UK games fair in Bognor Regis (yes, quality location I know). Again free board, food and beer, and more cool stuff for my aladdin's cave of a house. OD'd a little on the new card game Hecatomb (came 3rd out of 21 the only event I played in) and impressed everyone with my Star Wars scenery. I even got to take the cool AT-AT home with me. A distinct absence of hot gamer girl action though *sigh*
Now recovering from all that and looking ahead to SGUK meet this weekend and the Serenity Squared con next weekend (where I get to meet half the cast of Firefly/Serenity for the second time this year). Haven't had time to go back to the cinema since Nightwatch but I'm hoping to catch a couple of things soon before they disappear - any recommendations anyone? I've failed to keep up with 4400 s2 on Sky but I have kept up with Carnivale s2 on FX and I'm impressed with the way it's now all coming together (if only it hadn't taken so long it wouldn't have got canned). Lost is still both intriguing and frustrating. Looking forward to Threshold when that starts next week. Also finally started watching the Alias that fpkk lent me seem cool so far - much slick and interesting and less cheesy than I was expecting.
P.S. Firefly is now down to 17 in HMV
P.P.S If anyone hasn't seen either Firefly or Serenity yet then GO WATCH THEM NOW!
