So my life slowed down a little bit. I only have one more thing to do for this semester, and it is do some stupid group presentation (I hate working in groups).
Mogwa bought Eagles of Death Metal's new album, and it reminds me of a really special friend I had back home that I haven't heard from in a long, long time. But it still makes me want to dance, and doesn't make me sad.
One thing that has been wierd is that Mogwa and I fueled a bit of a controversy in town that has been boiling over in the form of publications, and mass school emails. We have always gone out at night and posted fliers (it's kind of a hobby). Well we decided to do some on martial law, and on the 2nd amendment. We silk screened them huge, and then posted them all over the place (in a week over 300 images went up in this small little town). Then we did digital prints of cops holding shot guns that were seven feet tall with the words "smile we care" (exploiting my lab fees). One of these was hung as a backdrop for "Culture" the reggea band when they played in town, fueling the mass anxiety of the cops present...
Well, long story made even longer, at the same time we were doing this a group of New Paltz students were recently elected to student government. They were talking about their agenda, and they mentioned starting a student militia that could protect against the cops in town (our cops are out of control, which is why we did our fliers). This then got published in a newspaper the day after we had put up a flier saying "Are you ready for martial law? They are! Hey lefty, you have the 2nd amendment too, use it!"
Well, they started a shit storm and the entire state university system, the FBI, and the state police had to all keep their heads from exploding. And we kept posting our images. Next thing we know the whole town thinks that this militia has a propoganda element, is an organized underground movement, ext. The mayor is in support of it (doesn't like the cops), while the cops and the university are freaking out (don't like the mayor), and the newspapers are drooling at the mouth. Meanwhile the entire art building, and every prof is sitting back silently waiting to see what will happen.
Funny shit really. Talk about a happy accident.
I love stirring people up!
