I'm on a train in Philly. Back in town for 24 hours for a funeral. A friend from high school died of cancer last week.
Often, when I listen to music...I hear wonderful lyrics, and I think "that would make a great facebook status".
But I don't do it because that feels too "emo"...it's like I'm stuck between wanting to express my emotion, wanting to let people in...and keeping people at a distance. Lyrics feel like a riddle - "you can figure out what I'm feeling if you figure out what song this is.
Sigh, I'm on a serious Neko Case kick. Where's my bottle of Maker's?
Home soon, sorry I missed Clobberknocking, I went to a friend's Soulive show in Brooklyn.
Ah, and there ends the train ride. See y'all on the other side.
