Man, when I look back on it, 2008 ranks up there as being a pretty shitty year. Things were great through...say...mid-June.
I rephrase. Shitty second half of the year. I won't type out details as no one wants to read that. This year involved a lot of work with people I don't particularly enjoy. And, considering how much theater pays, it's dumb to keep doing it if you aren't having any fun.
The economy has really started to affect theater in NYC, too. So many Broadway shows are closing, and those that are coming up the ranks, planning openings in early to mid-09 have been swamped with problems. Or maybe it's just my luck that the show I'M working on is the one swamped with problems...
Either way, my neuroses don't play nice when work sucks and the economy sucks...I tend to get down and stay down. Thank god for my friends.
Here's to hoping for better (and a girlfriend, please! ) in 2009...

P.S. If I write in this more, I'm assuming I'll improve at writing these blogs? I always feel like mine touch on the major issues with, say, a sentence and then move on. Is it just about ignoring the "no one wants to read this" feeling and being ballsy? eek!
