The dance of life and death is inescapable. Seems like one cannot exist without the other. As my new baby goats grow stronger my old dog Cheyanne grew weaker. First her hind legs went out and then she just started shutting down. In the end I was not sure if she were even conscious of what was going on around her. I took her to the vet and had her put down today. She is now back home and buried....She is at peace. I feel much older than I am today. Its so hard to lose such a special animal. She was in my life for 17 years, a rare occurance for a dog but then again she was indeed a rare kind of creature. I will never know another one like her.
Found this on face book while looking for a poem I used to love. It was just sweet and heart wrenching enough to turn me into a blubbering mess. Enjoy
