I hit the Vancouver Art Gallery today to see the Massive Change exhibit. While laughing over some inane one sided blather (Eg. "High rise cities are good and should be encouraged to free up space for the world to regrow!" To which I relpy yes, lets create huge pillars of mass consumption, destruction, and pollution! Fucktards...), by far the most interesting part of the show was the future materials, Like Aerogel, the insulation and possible building material made from 99.8% air (0.2% silicate), bamboo hardwood flooring, etc.
All in all, worth the $5 (go cheap night at the Gallery).

wottan:
Were these people talking about arcology type things, or just increasing density with more highrise housing like we have today?
herakles:
More highrise, high density city sprawls. So stupid.
