This is an ongoing series of sketches I've done that started with a conversation with a friend. He asked me if I got a tattoo, what would I get. I found this a hard question to answer. It would have to be something meaningful and inspirational to me. I sat down with my sketch pad and came up with my sketch for "Courage". The celtic cross representing my heritage with a celtic sword and an inspirational carving reminding me that in all things, have courage.
Then I decided there was more I could do with the idea.
My next sketch was "Faith". It is a French style cross inspired by a jewelry piece I ran across. It has "musketeer" style swords and a sash draped across them that I invasioned as a musket ever tabard.
Then came "Honor" with an Orthodox cross and Ottoman sword.
The next one, "Integrity", is based on the Maltese cross with crusader inspired long swords.
I have a few more ideas roaming around the creative portions of my brain, so we will have to see if anything comes of them.
