To all my friends here in the States, you have some required reading from me. There will be a quiz on this one and i'm dead serious when i say you won't be my friend if you don't read it.. it represents what might be the greatest single threat to the survival of higher life on earth. and it's not global warming, it's worse and could kill quicker. not to mention the fact it will kill my starvation of all life above cyanobacteria and those that eat them.
on a lighter note, i started volunteering at Dandelion Apothecary. it's my friendly local herb shop and i'm doing my practicum there, for now at very least. i may also do ethnobotanical work in the grand canyon area this summer if i'm lucky as all hell.
i've had a vision about a beer i'd like to make for the equinox. i have the clues and i'm putting them together. i need to talk to a friend in Zuni about what his take is and to see if he's got any wisdom to share on the spirits. hell, you might so i'll share here, too. i did journey work with the question of what to brew in my mind. i went to the underworld and turned into a snake. i then saw two beings: the first was a hummingbird with a body the color of the sky and the second was an owl just a bit taller than the hummingbird. both were perched in mid-air and we just stared at each other. There was no speech, there was no movement only my body on the earth and theirs in the sky.
i take it to mean that they are equal-the equinox feeds this notion- because neither one spoke first or last, they were about the same size and they symbolize a great many things to do with this equinox in my mind. but now i need to figure out an herb or blend of herbs that symbolize the three of us together and maintains balance between the three elements.
past that i need to get to sleep so i'll be stopping by you all tomorrow. remember your assignment!
