Any chance of pushing Christmas off an extra week? I could really use the extra time...

And we have now reached the point in the grieving proceedings where the siblings are at each others throats. Yay.

Mother in law passed away at 1:40 this morning. You will be missed, Fern, but now you can rest.

Mother in Law has been moved from ICU to a regular hospital room today. Her BP is still very low, and she is still very weak. They've started talking hospice, but that may be a few days off. We are just going to have to play it day by day, see how she does.

In the meantime, we soldier on, trying to prepare for Christmas.

Sigh.

Found out last Friday that my best friend's father passed away. He was my first scoutmaster, and was a pretty major influence on the person that I am today. I ended up finding out later in life that he was actually not a very nice guy, but I do still owe him a debt. So I am planning on going downstate to my hometown...

The installers didn't show up until 7:00 last night. I brought them down into the basement, and showed them where the furnace was, and came back upstairs. Crokinole was great. Played until 2AM. Laughed a ton. Needed more food, though.

However...furnace install is another story. We were buying a 2 stage 95% efficency furnace, and the dorkwad salesguy messed up and didn't realize that we couldn't run the exhaust out through the side of the house, and the only way we could get it to work would be to run it...

I watch Glee, and I wish I was a tenor for a few minutes. Cause frankly, a mashup of "Don't Stand So Close to Me" and "Young Girl" is brilliant!

But then a few minutes later I remember that basses are way cooler, and I get over it.

Was channel surfing and just stumbled across an episode of The Prisoner on IFC. I flipped it on, and am watching it with my 10 and 13 year old.

We had the following conversation about 10 minutes into it.

Kids: "What's going on?"
Me: "I don''t know!"
Kids: "But you watched them before?"
Me: "Yep."

Grr. Stupid kids. Added Spectacular Spider Man to my DVR queue, and it bumped Glee off of the recording schedule.

Now, while I appreciate the fact that my kids want to watch Spider Man enough to record it, DON"T MESS WITH MY GLEE!!!

I really should stop watching Good Eats at night. I have been searching all day for a pickle crock...I really want to make up a batch of homemade pickles and then deep fry some of them.
