I never realized how much I enjoyed and appreciated George until I was much older. I remember his death, and the specials that MTV and VH1 ran that whole weekend. I was irritated then that I couldn't watch TRL or whatever-the-hell that show was, but now I'm grateful I got to live through the experience, and see firsthand how much of an influence he was.
