Poet

I was a poet
I am not a poet
Anymore
Your ways
Are strange
To me
Your lack of
Empathy
Is
Strange
To me.
I was a poet
I am not a poet
Anymore
Your highways
Go nowhere
Your bridges
Are collapsing…
I was a poet
I am not a poet
Anymore
You speak
All trivialities
You speak about
Borders
When the earth itself
Is dying.
I was a poet
I am not a poet
Anymore
Might as well be
A cooper
Or a blacksmith
The village fool
In these troubled times
I am a poet
And this
Is
A poem.
