Once I played a rocking show
In some long gone bar
I whirled around, a hurricane
With my Charvel guitar
The crowd was out the door that night
They had to turn them away
They whistled clapped and stamped their feet
To every anthem that we played
Man that was the best of times
Before the worst of dues
But I can make it all come back
When I'm with you
Once I sailed above a sea
All blue and green
Parasailing high above
The ways and means
Far above the tiny boats
And all their buzzing noise
The sun and sky and curvature
And other bird-like joys
Man that was the best of times
Before the worst of dues
But I can make it all come back
When I'm with you
When I'm with you
Once I went to Vegas town
With my little brother Dan
I saw the Eiffel Tower there
And a Beatles tribute band
I won a hundred dollars (yeah)
On a nickel slot machine
The coins poured out like water there
As sirens whirled and screamed
Man that was the best of times
Before the worst of dues
But I can make it all come back
When I'm with you
When I'm with you
