Henjin0's silly movie review blog presents....
The Promise 2005
I really liked the first five minutes...Qingcheng makes a deal with the Goddess Manshen, in exchange for beauty and riches she will never be lucky in love (except in the event of backwards flowing time, rising dead and snow falling in spring). Had she taken this oppotunity to vow celibacy and become a tatooed, punk rockin Suicide Girl, it would have been a happy ending.
But alas...she had to fall for the first general, who was really a slave disguised as a general, that kills the king to rescue her. BIG MISTAKE. Now we have to sit through the story of a slave, whose really descendant of a wiped out tribe of speedies (fast runners). The slave wears the armour of his master to rescue the king, who he kills in for trying to kill Qingcheng. Now everyone, including Qingcheng, thinks the general killed the king. The general's rival, who was planning to kill the king, hunts down the general and the slave for killing the king. If you're not confused now, you're not drinking enough....Anyhow...crappy CGI, cheesy sets, too much drama ruin what could have been an entertaining play. This was the most disappointing perfomance I have seen from Hiroyuki Sanada.

They are SG originals. I'm a little too neurotic to be a real film critic.

On the contrary, I think neurosis is a prerequisite to be a real film critic
