Looking for the lost childhood sense of wonder.
Not many words, just some nice things I found.
First is a new application, a game for PC, simple and beautiful,
"Crayon Physics"
(early version available here,
subscribe to the mailing list to know when the Deluxe version will be ready):

Then, hopping from one hyperlinking madness to another, I ended up here.
Some of...

Thank you sooo much! Your messages always warm my heart blush

Christmas to me is not a happy time I'm afraid. I intend to make the most of it this year though and try and enjoy it, knowing there are some very exciting and happy times ahead biggrin

Thank you for the kind wishes. I had a lovely weekend away, albeit very cold! The gig wasn't as good as when I saw them previously but never mind, I'm still smiling.

Hope you are ok, keep in touch............ xx
lil_em:
Wow, thank you for your encouraging words; they make perfect sense.

I can't thank you enough.

I have seen the future.
There are no keyboards and no mice.

This is the work of the guys at Perceptive Pixel startup:

Here you can see that Microsoft jumped on the multi-touch bandwagon, too,
with their "Surface" technology:

Just thinking of the implications and changes that this will bring
in what we are used to consider a standard graphical user interface,
makes me want...

Sinead O'Connor sings the 1975 "Streets of London" song by Ralph McTell.

Have you seen the old man
In the closed-down market
Kicking up the paper,
with his worn out shoes?
In his eyes you'll see no pride
And held loosely at his side
Yesterday's paper telling yesterday's news

So how can you tell me you're lonely,
And say for you the sun won't shine?...

My mother is much better now.
She is now in her second day in the hospital
where they are running some more tests, just for safety.
Her values went back to normal,
thanks to the pills she is taking now.
All seems a little more normal now, thank god,
even though she is of course still a little weak.
I am waiting to hear the...

Happy to hear that the sky is clearing up. Hope the weather forecast continues to improve.

Interesting input, my friend. You are very right in stating that we are all spoiled. That, too, was part of the awareness I was referring to. However, I also do believe that not everyone who is aware is also aware of being spoiled.

My mother suffered a minor stroke yesterday.

She is 65 years old.
My sister called me today and told me.
They have spent almost the entire night in the hospital.
My mother is like me, so, by the time she was herself again,
she asked and signed the papers to leave the hospital.

I talked to her today
and on request of my sister,
I...

Remember to laugh as often as you can,
you can't do anything to yourself better than this.

Remember to think about what your place in the universe is,
guess what, it ain't the center.

Remember that if you love yourself, you don't need anything or anyone,
they will all need you instead.

Remember that time is not infinite
but remember also that rushing won't get...

This is "Margherita", a song by Riccardo Cocciante (1976),
probably one of the most beautiful italian songs ever written.
I don't want to add too many of my words to it,
here is the text with english translation.
After reading it,
enjoy the YouTube audio.

Be loving and always in love, somehow.
Don't become cold.
That's the end of everything human in you.

It's a little known fact, but we have them on everyone. Some people just feel it more than others.

Very man in the mirror.
When an artist speaks the personal and touches upon the universal in doing so, he's doing it right.
