Got a call back from the vet.
Culture showed high amounts of a bacteria that they commonly have in them. This leads her to believe a virus is the cause, and the weakened immune system allowed these bacteria to go nuts.
So...we are continuing to treat with the Tazicef and crossing our fingers. Essentially we are keeping the bacteria under control and hoping the virus burns out without killing the snakes.
Can't treat a virus...so...
Fingers crossed I have no more deaths. There are some NASTY viruses that can spread through ball python collections like Wildfire and kill all of them if I am not careful.
The sick snakes will stay in quarantine. I will continue to keep an eye on the healthy animals, and I bought a container of hand sanitizer for each room that has snakes in it. (Snake room, bedroom/quarantine and living room where I am keeping the hatchlings to make sure they are not exposed to the virus if it is still in the snake room)
I will use that between each snake handling to be sure I don't spread it through contact.
All a giant pain in my ass...and part of the fun of working with live animals.
"Fun" I say. Haha.

Stupid joke a coworker told me.
How do you catch a polar bear?
First you cut a hole in the ice...then you sprinkle peas around the hole (I don't know why, polar bears love peas.)
When the polar bear comes to eat the peas...you kick him in the ice-hole.
I laughed so damn hard...

artfulodin:
reminds me of a quote I love to use: "This must be some new definition of the word 'fun' I am not familiar with."
_smurfzilla_:
I hope everything sorts itself out with your snakes. Ugh. Losing that many that quickly is terrible!
