So my landlord rings the doorbell today and hands Christine a scrap of paper with a name and number on it, then says she no longer wants to be responsible for anything involving the apartment, so maintenance issues and rent are to go to her "husband."
Seeing as her name is the ONLY name on the lease, I am fairly sure she just verbally voided the contract.
Not that it matters, we will be sending her the letter saying we are moving in 2 weeks (mailing the letter that is.)
With all the shit we have as evidence...I'd love to see her try to sue us for the rent...
Then again, she can only do that if she can't find another renter AND she has to provide proof that she couldn't, so...
from the sounds of it, I doubt she will try to sue anyway, seeing as she "no longer wants to be responsible for the place."
