After being sent home early at work on Tuesday I had to spend my entire afternoon re-arranging our charity abseil. Am starting to realise our so called group leader is completely incapable of organising anything at all. After telling us all the abseil was sorted and sending out sponsorship forms to everyone he contacted the local news for publicity. It then turns out he didn't get in touch with the Police, and they can't cover the event that day. If it was a minor oversight I wouldn't mind, but it was second on his list after hiring a company! He then went off to France and I got a call off another group member asking if I could meet the local news crew the next day, as I'm the only one currently near Newcastle. I was so annoyed. Turns out the news people wanted to put the whole group on TV, but of course we're all home for Easter. So that took some sorting out, and a lot of 'thanks but no thanks' just hope they'll give us some coverage in a months time.
Then I finally got another date sorted for the abseil, and got shit off other people because it falls in exam period! It's on a bloody Sunday! Does it really matter if it means that we raise a grand or more? And half the group will spend all day Sunday in bed anyway. It's really getting to me now. Out of a group of 12 there are only 4 of us putting the work in, and the other 8 are just sitting back while we bust a gut trying to raise all the cash for the trip. Ugh anyway
Wednesday was not quite so depressing Although I did end up full of holes after having injections in both arms for my vaccines, a filling at the dentist and dye put in my eyes at the opticians. I'm really gutted about having a filling. Never had to have one before and always had perfect teeth. I didn't even have toothache! Thankfully it didn't really hurt too much, was worth not having a jab, think that would have hurt more than a bit of drilling!
Thursday was a pain at work. Had so much to do to get the place ready to open today, but couldn't get on because the fitters were still in the kitchen. The company is just stupidwhy fit new kitchens and serving counters just days before opening when the place has been shut all winter?!
Friday was even more hectic, but at least we could get stuff done and I was back in the restaurant rather than pricing and putting stuff on shelves in the shop (I was doing that all day Monday and Tuesdaythe second most boring days work everand only second to the time I spent a day sitting on scaffolding watching a tower crane). Had to stay late to help get everything prepped in the kitchen. Was good to be back doing stuff in the kitchen, I enjoy it. Somehow we got everything clean and ready in time to open today though!
And guess what? After all that work Saturday was so quiet all day! Had nothing to do saying as everything had been cleaned and sorted by us already! I was nice though. It's really chilled out compared to the other restaurant up the road where I normally work which is also owned by the company.
Yesterday was busy, really busy. It was good fun though. Most of the customers were really nice and polite. There were loads of bikers seriously half the car park was full of bikes. Heard on the news this morning though that two people were killed and two more seriously injured in the area yesterday after coming off their bikes. I hate to say it, but I have very little sympathy for them. They ride like absolute idiots up here, with no respect for the people living here or other road users. And what about their families back home? Sure get an adrenalin rush racing along a country road good for you but what about your wife who mite have to tell your kid dad isn't coming homeyeah it really annoys me anyway
It's been such a beautiful weekend. I am so lucky to work where I do. The view is amazing, especially on days like today. You can never get really bored when you've got sail boats going by which you can just sit and watch. It's really relaxing. My ex came up last night, picked my dog up from my place and met me after work so we could go for a walk. It was lovely. The lake was so calm and still, wish I'd remembered to take my camera.
Hmm quite a long post there about not much sorry guys, haven't done much other than work this last week! Working all this week too. Am in a better mood now though, so my next post will hopefully have fewer pissed off ramblings in it
Oh yeah... and please if you sent me a friendship request will you message me and say hi, tell me something about yourself... make conversation...?

I used to have a flat next to the Grand Union Canal. So close that I could stick a fishing rod out of my living room window and reach the water, not that I tried! There is something special about being near water and its one of the things that I wish I had where I live now.
