Woohoo!!!
It looks like I'm going to finally get paid for a shitload of work that I did over a year ago.
We're talking hundreds of hours that I hadn't even bothered to invoice, because I never expected to see a dime from it, and now it's a matter of mere weeks before I might see almost the entire amount.
And just in time for my upcoming trip to Italy, which I had no idea how I could possibly afford.
I might even be able to get some renovations done on my building...
In less exciting news, I got a call yesterday that the upstairs tenant in my building didn't have any cold water, only hot. This was strange in that, even though we just had a cold snap, it hasn't been cold long enough to freeze my pipes.
Long and short of it, someone broke into my building using the bathroom window, and the cold air coming in froze the pipes.
Luckily I got there before there was much damage. I got water flowing to the second floor quickly, and now I just need to replace some of the bathroom pipes to get the first floor bathroom going.
Nothing was stolen, because once you get into the place, there's literally no way to get out except for that one window. The front door has a gate across it, and the back door is deadbolted with a keyed lock on both sides.
Man that guy must have been pissed when he found out that for all his trouble, he couldn't get anything out of the place.
