Hahahaha...

I just flew down to Miami RIGHT when a hurricae was supposed to hit land. Setup a fireworks display on a barge. Got the ONLY perfectly calm three hour period in the entire week right when the show was supposed to go. And finally struck the show just before the rain started (like, an hour before).

Talk about threading the fucking needle. The ground...

I have now gotten my FOURTH broken treo from verizon... Seriously, this is starting to resemble a bad sit-com. Four in a row, all of them broken in the exact same way out of the box.

At least now the customer service person agreed to upgrade me to the next version. I think it was my pointing out that I know they're just sending me...

my bro in law has gone thru 2 in as many weeks - i told him about your nightmares with it, and suggested maybe he go down one generation in technology.

also on a side note, i may have a company to work with that can make all talk-to-text functions for text/emails on ALL phones - so you can speak your email into the mic & itll send - all that at the touch of a button!
teena:
you saturday 4-9 whats your reg email????

The NEW replacement from verizon doesn't work either... I think I'm going to start a broken treo collection. I'm up to three in less than a week.
teena:
thanks for the tip on the music!

i have no idea what a broken treo collection is.
flannery:
is it the phone or the service?
i have the XV6600 form verizon... its a pretty good pda, but a poor phone (clunky, short batt)

it seems like the treo would have been something i shoulda looked at harder

did you get the unlimitted data plan?

wow, this week was hell...

really, I don't even think I can adequately describe it. I had a huge fireworks show to do, lot's of work projects to handle, and my cell phone decided to die. On top of all that, my truck blew it's fuel pump on I-95, and the replacement phone from verizon was broken.
BUT, the fireworks show went well, which is...

That was an awesome fireworks show. I brought my parents, and they had a great time; up close and personal.

biggrin

Another short 12 hour day doing fireworks... Too many more of these and I'll start going soft.
Luckily we've got a nice three site barge show coming up that should be pretty intense. I'll have my own little barge jam packed with fireworks, and a little plywood shed to huddle in and control the show (or at least my site).
FUN!
I really can't wait...

I really am an idiot...
I started this car thing with the goal of getting rid of my truck, and replacing it with a more sensible vehicle without sinking lot's of money into it.
I was thinking a late model used car with low mileage. Something reliable, like a civic or corolla or something.

At this point my rudimentary plan is to keep the truck,...

So, I'm in "car buying" mode now...
I'm sick and tired of my truck, and I don't need it, so I want to get rid of it and get a more sensible car, like say, a sky blue 1972 Karmann Ghia Cabriolet? Ok, so that's quite a bit in the wrong direction on the sensible scale, but the price is amazing, and the body and...

So my last update (and can you believe it? two updates in two days!) was brought about because I was sitting on my couch, and by best estimate the knots in my shoulders are about the size of softballs. Anyway, I assumed that a good nights sleep and a nice relaxing day would take care of things...
apparantly I was wrong.

No kidding, I mentioned in passing what they did to the Chinese. But they didn't do that to us. If the Chinese had nukes in the 30's and 40's, there's no doubt they'd use use them and they would be entirely justified in doing so. And if the Japanese knew the Chinese had nukes, there's no way they would have invaded or treated them like they did.

I think I mentioned also that the Japanese attacked us first. We could have conceivably dodged WWII if it wasn't for them. Would have been bad for Asia and Europe, but if they hadn't attacked us, we could have avoided it.

It's weird, because Japanese are the kindest politest people you will ever meet. Then you read about their history and can't believe it.

I've had a few hosting offers, and to be honest I don't know what to do with them. The reason I was using the free site was because I started with NO knowledge of html or any other website-building software. They had easy forms to fill out and I just copied and pasted code until I got a basic idea of how things work. So I can build a simple site with what I've learned but it's not nearly enough for what I want to do.

Thanks for the offer, I'm going to wait until I have the resources to do it right.

In general, I'm a very solitary person. I live alone, I keep to myself, I don't keep too many friends.. I just like to be left alone to my own devices to as great a degree as possible.

the one major exception to this rule, is when I've had a week like this one. Weeks like this one I'm painfully aware of the potential benefits...

Damn I love my laptop... I'm watching a pirated copy of the life aquatic ported through to my television, while transcoding 6 hours of video into DVD format, and posting on SG all at the same time.
Technology rocks.

It looks like you are a group owner, but are not a member of the group owners' group.

There are instructions here as to how to join the group owners' group.

The reason I am mentioning this is that the owner of the PC users group posted a thread explaining his difficulty in allowing someone with stolen property ask for help in his group.

Once you join the group owners group, you can view the thread here.
