I'm bored so I wrote a dissertation on wrestling....
I've got a couple of things to talk about before I get to my Royal Rumble preview.
First up is TNA. Johnny Fairplay may actually be a decent addition, although he needs to work on his chairshots. Those were weak. I'm less thrilled about the rumors revolving around Nash and Hall returning as the Outsiders. Nash has very little to offer TNA, and will probably want far too much money in return. Hall would work out all right, if he can stay off the booze. Thirdly, TNA has announced that Bound for Glory will go on in April sans Hogan. If they want to bring in the big names like Hall and Nash this would be the night. If they solidly book this (and that includes a Styles/Jarrett main event) this could be a star. I'm hoping they get Bound for Glory out there to prove just how good NWA TNA can be.
I also wanted to wish the best of luck to Spanky. I hope we're see him again soon stateside, especially in ROH. He's an amazing young talent and I hope he can shine outside WWE.
On to the Rumble...
This card is weak even for the Rumble. I'll give you the rundown and then my thoughts.
Dudley Boyz vs. Flair/Batista. Flair and Batista will retain, and the Dudleys will continue to be pointless and boring. Raw really needs some new tag teams pushed up the card. My guess is Evolution will hold on to these titles until Wrestlemania, where we're see Flair/Batista v. Rock/Foley.
Rey Misterio v. Jamie Noble. Despite Jamie's recent push, Rey will probably win here again. I'm going to guess that Rey will hold the title to Wrestlemania, where he will defend against Ultimo Dragon (who will probably have joined Tajiri, Akio, and Sakoda by then.)
Eddie Guerrero v. Chavo Guerrero. I'd say this is the show stealer. This feud was way over-extended, but I'm hoping for a solid blowoff match. I see Eddie winning, although Chavo might go over thanks to interference from his dad. Either way, expect Chavo to challenge Rey for the cruiserweight title at No Way Out.
Mick Foley will hopefully be back to wrestle at the show, after being "ordered" to by Stone Cold. I'd like to see what a Foley/Orton confrontation can give us. My guess is Foley will be screwed by Evolution tonight, only to be saved by a certain People's Champion...
Brock Lesnar/Hardcore Holly should be crap. Hardcore doesn't deserve this match, and he doesn't have the talent to be at this level. I hope this match proves to be a squash, but I'm betting Brock will look like a pansy and need help from Rhyno or Big Show to carry this off.
Shawn Michaels/Triple H: if No Way Out featured Raw matches, I'd pick Shawn to win for the one month title reign. As it stands, Triple H will win, if only to set up his feud with the winner of the Royal Rumble...
Royal Rumble match will be Chris Benoit's bitch. The man's going to pull a Shawn Michaels and out last all 29 other men. Heyman gave us the same setup as Lesnar/Angle last year, and my Royal Rumble predictions have held true since 2001. WWE could serve their fans a lot better by not making the Rumble's outcome quite so predictable. I see Heyman refusing to honor the title shot, which will force a trade between shows. Benoit moves to challenge HHH, while Goldberg moves over to Smackdown to take on Lesnar.
We'll see Sunday how well these predictions hold true.

His Rumble prediction came true. Benoit wins. Hats off to ya, mi amigo.
scattershot:
I'll pick up my foot and put it in my mouth now... hell I'd rather do that than have Goldberg main event wrestlemania. Although Lesnar vs. Goldberg will be on the mania card won't it. Get our yer crystal ball and see. The way it seems to me is that Benoit and Goldberg will switch up between Raw and Smackdown and Im hoping beyond hope that an iron man match between Benoit and HHH headlines 'mania. Even Benoit vs Lesnar Iron Man Match would be radness. Goldberg can sit on the sidelines.
