Someone I'm friends with on Facebook (and do know in real life) posted about how she's bummed out because she's single and relationships don't last long with her. She's not a bad person but kind of bummed, since everyone always says "There's someone out there for everyone" and "You'll find someone" (etc.)
And got me thinking about all those myths out there people say to make you feel better (or such)....things like "There's someone out there for everyone" and such.
Ones I hate are:
"There's someone out there for everyone, just you see..." No there isn't. If there was, why do so many people die alone?
"Everything happens for a reason." Really? So all that crap I get in my life (or I see others suffer, such as abused children) is for a reason?
"You get what you deserve..." (the Karma principle). So I deserve all the crap I've dealt with in life? That kid who has been beat or sexually abused by his or her parents deserved it? Horrible people who live a great life deserve it?
So yeah....what are some of the myths out there people say that you don't like or irritates you? Just curious.
