well, leaving Albany tomorrow. found out all the museums are closed on Mondays here in Albany....WTF is up with that? so instead I went to the Empire Plaza....saw numerous memorials (the WW II one got to me the most, followed by the Children Victims Memorial....I lost 2 great uncles in WW II and both my grandfathers fought in WW II. As for the Children Victims Memorial, I worked just over 2 years in CPS). I even went to the Cortland Tower outlook to see Albany....42 floors up. first time I ever went on an elevator where my ears popped on the way up and the way down. walked around the State Capital building and saw the Governor's mansion as well....so a good day all in all.
tomorrow I drive back. I'm going to go to the Corning Museum of Glass on the way back. then my cousin invited me to a Geeks Who Drink event. on Wednesday I go to the dentist for the first time in way too long. now I just have to get a doctor and get that taken care of as well.
and people ask why I like museums, which is somewhat odd since I never did like museums before. first, I like the art museums and natural history museums. and its quiet. I can walk around, looked at the displays, and not be bothered by others. I often get a chance to really focus on the display (or whatever its called) and block out the rest of the world. at that point, things are quiet and relaxing. guess its the introvert in me showing itself again. as I tell people....if there is too much going on around me, it hurts. people don't understand it, but it happens to me.
so that's about it. I was planning on going to a draft party on Thursday, but since my cousin is the one with friends (keep in mind for my 40th I did not have a party....I've realized I have almost no friends in the area), and he's going to a music festival, I have a feeling I won't be going to any draft parties. I might get lucky but I'm not holding my breathe.
so that's about it. I plan to organize comic books and do some painting (maybe). my Mom wants to see my apartment for the first time....she was recovering from having both her knees replaced when I moved. she might be surprised by what she sees, since I keep open spaces and minimal decorations or colors. I like it that way....it keeps things low key and relaxes me.
so that's about it. I might upload the pictures I took. who knows.
so what's new with you (those who read this blog)?
