well, three weeks almost down at the job. still lots and lots of information to learn. but I'm getting there!
signed up for all my benefits this week...kind of. I might be in the Tier IV retirement plan instead of Tier VI. what does that mean? I can retire at an earlier age if I so choose. and more importantly (since you get a pension), I only pay into the plan for the first 10 years of my employment (3%). after that, I don't pay anything else into the plan. those in Tier V and Tier VI have to pay in their entire career! score for me!
also signed up for a 473 plan. having 7% taken out for this plan. when I'm done paying into the Public Employee Retirement plan, plan on bumping that up to 10%. just an added cushion to make me happy!
and now have to cancel my health insurance through Wegmans so I can get the (better) health insurance through the county. tough part....I work during the week, and the HR Rep is only there during the week. maybe I can catch her on my lunch break soon! hopefully!
so yeah, that's about it...what about you?
