so Monday starts the new job. as I look more at the job description, I almost kind of chuckle.
its an 8 hour work day with a 1 hour unpaid lunch (7 hours).
that includes 2 paid 15 minute breaks....so now down to 6 1/2 hours a day, 5 days a week.....
so full-time pay while (technically) working 32.5 hours a week!
sweet....although given the way I work, since I rarely take a full 15 minute break, I'll be working more.
still, the ability to look at Wegmans where people are starting to play games and write the schedule for what looks best for them and say "screw it" is nice! no longer will the amount i work (and get paid) in part be determined by someone's desire to make themselves look good at the expense of others!
plus I can now work up and save money and (dare I say) look into buying a new car next year.....figure 12 years driving the same car is a good length of time, especially considering that its a Neon I'm driving!
and in other (cool) news, my step-father has been going through is parents' stuff recently. the estate is settling. his mother was given a pair of chopsticks by Japanese exchange students one time after hosting the students.
now I have those chopsticks, in the box that they came in! sweet! he figured I am the only person who actually knows how to use chopsticks, so he decided to give them to me.
now if he would only grab that mounted, chromed piece of a turbine blade his father received.....his father was the Superintendent of a local nuclear power plant when the fan blade broke and the plant almost had a meltdown. he dealt with it. me...I think its something you put a plaque on and display. but that's just me!
so that's about it....I should be around next week, however intermittently. between working out and the new job I should be busy. but it'll be nice to have something consistent.
and accomplished my 1st goal for working out....45 minutes on the treadmill straight jogging. heart rate between 160 and 174 during the time and it was a consistent, sustained effort. now what should the next cardio goal be for me?
