well, my Mom's jeep is back into the shop for a fourth time in about a week. initially it went in for a code P0440 (evap issue). at the shop, the guy notices three wires behind the battery that were chewed through and replaces them.
$160, says its fixed. that is Friday.
driving it Saturday, the light goes back in.....new code! P2096. something with the catalytic converter (hey, 160,000 miles on the Jeep!). Sunday, it won't start right. back into the shop.
Monday its back, new battery (original battery, 7 years old).
driving it Tuesday morning, code back on. yup, still evap. back to the shop, either O2 sensor or catalytic converter. start with O2 sensor. get it back Wednesday.
now Thursday....we're back to the evap issue.
and my step-father.....brings it back to the same mechanic again and again and again.....
