ever notice how staying on the outside and watching all the drama where you work at times can be fun...and at times be annoying?
latest one where I work...
one of the mid-level managers just broke off her engagement. I will call her Ash. on Sunday, she got in a big fight with her fiance (at the time), I asked her how often they fight...she told me "How often do we NOT fight?" she then said how she was unsure of whether or not to say "Yes" when he asked her to marry him. hmmm, now, I'm perpetually single....but if you're unsure about marriage, isn't that when you say "No" or "I'm not sure right now....let's come back to the question later on?" or something like that? just a thought.
she ended the engagement on Sunday, and moved back with her parents (about 1 1/2 hours away) on Monday, transferring to another store. which meant her shifts had to be covered.
now....the drama part. she is friends with another manager, Bob.....a 28 year old guy who has never had a date. he also seems to think that Ash would fall back onto him. yeah....because when she first got engaged, he kept texting her saying how he was so much better and she should break off her engagement and go out with him. or how he wants to put her fiance's head on a wall. mind you, Bob is about 5' 3", and has a disorder where his joints didn't form correctly (aka, he's not very mobile and widely regarded as someone who would get his ass whooped in a fight....while Ash's former fiance is over 6 feet tall and works as a mechanic). Bob's harassment got so bad, Ash took him to HR about it. since Ash left, Bob has become more emo than Good Charlotte. the most annoying part....Bob is also the one who bitches on how he wants everyone to be professional like him. he also thinks he all tough because his brothers are Marines...and a strong conservative/Republican. should ask him how his parents paid for his 20+ operations. open his eyes a little bit.
my response...he pulls the emo crap on me (or blows up at or around me because he's in a bitchy mood), I"m going to take him aside and lay it out as this...."You say you want everyone to be professional like you....a professional leaves their personal stuff at the door before they walk into work. right you, you're acting like a high school student working at a part-time job. get your shit together or get out...but it does not give you the right at all to take it out on the employees here."
after all, what's the worst he can do....write me up? fine....I'll sit down with the full-time management staff and lay out how he acted, and probably have the back-up of the rest of the staff. Bob got yelled at once for telling a cashier (in public) he was going to reprimand her. what's the worst that can happen? I get suspended? or talked to. fine by me...if I get chewed out, his ass should be held over the fire as well!
so how is your work experience going?

I work for my dad. The worst that happens on a regular basis is, he comes into my office to fart or smacks me in the back of the head.
