so Labor Day, and I'm not working. Sunday did very little. I cooked dinner (did a breaded chicken, using Spicy Brown Mustard instead of egg to adhere the bread crumbs to the chicken breasts) and chilled. really didn't want to do much of anything, well, except play video games. feeling the same way today a bit as well.
think I might have to clean my room up some. I lost my Palm Tungsten E2 a while back (not the phone...but an actual Palm device....got it back when I first started grad school so I could keep my schedules straight....it was not easy, let me tell you!) I hope in my room somewhere. I miss it most because I have books downloaded on the Palm to read (currently going through Animal Farm). so without it, means no reading for a while for me (well, I do have a few actual books I'm reading, so not fully true....but something so small is convenient at work!).
still got to do some landscaping. we have a rose bush bed in the front of our house that is over growing with weeds. a few years back I expanded the size of the bed (and made it round instead of something akin to 2 rectangles connected on one side, in an "L" shape) and used stone to fill things in. figure a good 2 or 3 inches of stone would keep the weed growth down....nope. damn things grow through. I'm impressed and thoroughly annoyed. so time to remove the stones, clean the bed and this time put down weed mat. lets see stuff grow through that! plus trim up shrubs and what not in the front of the house. my step-father goes "You like doing that, right?" no I don't like doing the landscaping....its just that I CAN do the landscaping. much like I don't like painting or putting up ceiling fans...however, I CAN do all of this. big difference.
still job searching. kind of disheartening when you have 2 Masters degrees, apply for a job requiring an Associates....and you hear nothing. is the job market honestly that bad when someone with 2 Masters can only get part-time employment at a grocery store? where's this economic growth the past 10 years politicians talk about....do these people even have a clue? oh well, I digress.
the best part, though....with this time, I can go through my computer, eliminating unnecessary files (bites when you download something and realize it sucks) and watch TV shows I've downloaded. just bummed that I don't work a Monday night....and no Eureka or Warehouse 13 is on SyFy. honestly...SyFy, a network that is doing its damnedest to fail. keeps eliminating the shows people watch....now it wants to focus on realty TV shows? where did the Sci Fi channel I knew years ago go to anyways? where we could watch some good Sci Fi classic shows as well as some innovative shows like Eureka, Farscape, and Warehouse 13?
well, think that's about it...I just ran out of Mt. Dew, so time to shower and get some. Mom is arguing with step-father over the use of his father's car....after my step-father's father (Platt) gave up his license (90 years old, Parkinsons), the car was GIVEN to step-father's sister (after all, when your almost 65, why should you actually buy your first car in your life, right?). well, said sister is in the hospital. my mom figures that since my A/C doesn't work, why don't I drive the car sitting in a parking spot now? my step-father refuses, wondering why I haven't fixed my car's A/C yet.....maybe because I don't have the money. then he goes on and on about how I need to get a job to get the money. funny comments coming from a guy who goes to his father every time he needs anything....and figures that his father can pay for his sister's (mind you, 65 years old) bills. and my cousin's bills....and anyone else biologically related to him. odd, too, since I'm the one who finds the stuff his father (Platt) wants. oh well, such is life. at least I can look at my car and know that I paid for it myself, without anyone helping me.
so, 3 overnight shifts this week (Tuesday night through Thursday night) and then who knows what next week....what are you plans for the week?

I actually understand what you mean. You're right, I resent that I give out those meaningless comments. I don't know, I guess I just had a bug up my ass last night

Well, really, if I guess in the end I want to be acknowledged. I know I have a sad story every time I write on here, I'm not proud of it. But goddammit, when someone is sad they want to know someone is listening. I guess that's my real beef. I've written on here and the saddest blogs go ignored. But if I show a picture of a horse people are all over that.
