so back brakes done. kind of mad at Doan Dodge. a while back, I had my brakes checked out by Monro Muffler (within the past 2 years). they told me the one wheel cylinder was starting to leak. since it was under warranty, I bought it to the dealership to be checked out (it would cost me nothing). Doan Dodge told me the wheel cylinder was fine.
yeah, it was the one leaking badly that was just replaced.
had trouble getting my hood to latch. took the latch off...it was missing a spring. one spring later, its all good now. the fog light covers also popped off....a little epoxy and good to go (the type designed for glass and plastic). now all I have to do is adjust the rear brakes so the parking brake is set correctly...that should be a joyous bi-atch.
now, I have done the following on my car....
front and rear brakes (drums and disk)
front and rear wheel bearings
oil change
hood latch
and now I know how to do all of these as well. I am thankful to have a neighbor willing to show me how to do this stuff....it really does help save money (the rear brakes cost me about $100 total for new brake hoses, cylinders, shoes, and hardware). considering the wheel cylinders alone would have cost me $100 each a few years ago....not bad!
so now time to sleep and get ready for the weekend....of work. Free Comic Book Day in a week....I'm covering the end of my cousin's store hours. people there in Star Wars costumes, trying to get one kid to show up in his Deadpool costume. should be interesting!
yeah....I'm a geek, aren't I?

It really is great when you can do stuff yourself and save that kind of money.
