Finally did see Irina's show yesterday and it was really really good.
Also had the unbelievable happen as I actually got my picture in the front page of the New York Times on Monday carrying a huge anti-bush banner (thinking like no smoking but no bush) that was something like 21/2 lanes wide in diameter ....
If you look at the shot (overhead prob. from roof) I am wearing a green shirt just under the big U ....
Still awfully trippy to go wait ... thats me when looking at the New York Times ...
Anyone who wants to see the picture can send me an e-mail and I will forward it to them ....
Also would love to go the US Open ... and even with discounted grounds passes the tickets cost another $13.00 after all the Ticketmaster fees (yet another egregious corporate malfeasance) ...
I hope and pray that W does not get elected ... The country needs to be more civil with the world and a little less "yee-hah" ....
Oh and saying we are "leading the world" in our fight against Terror (wait does that mean we must ban the Halloween movies and the Exorcist??
) and Iraq is like saying Will Ferrell in old school led the entire university in a mass streak when he said "lets go streaking" in the v. silly "Old School"
Two more quick movie reviews too:
Napolean Dynamite is extremely funny and v.v. cute .. in fact Ninanna has started a Napolean Dynamite group..... Def. one of the geekiest silly movies in recent times ***1/2
And "Garden State" is really beautiful and great with Zach Braff (of Scrubs) showing unbelievable writing and directing ability in his first feature ... Natalie Portman may have the best performance of her career. ****
The RNC is gone in only 2 days
