Currently watching "21 Up!" and will give a review of that soon ... 21 UP is very interesting and surprised me with some of how the people have changed ... Lots of footage from the first two movies too .. A very interesting ***
I also went to an absolutely brilliant church retreat at Ferry Beach in Saco, Maine this weekend.
Was lovely to get some nice ham for Easter with the in-laws too ..
First review is for Dodgeball **1/2 .. There were parts of this that made me cringe, but as a whole I enjoyed it ... Its a fun silly movie, but not as good as Wedding Crashers, Old School or the brilliant "30-Year Old Virgin" ... I liked it ...
Yesterday after my time at the beach, and my wonderfully tasty, horrible nutrition early dinner of Fried Dough, Pier Fries, and a Crab Cake ...
Then I saw "Thank You for Smoking" ****1/4 ... This movie is brilliant. Aaron Eckhart should already have an Oscar nomination for best Actor for his amazing role as a tobacco lobbyist. The movie is absolutely hilarious, with a great script, and a wonderful, witty, sarcastic eye of contemporary politics. I loved it.
The only movie recently that made me laugh harder was John Waters "A Dirty Shame" which I will now install in the classic category with ***** ... I really think I need to own it .. This rating may change after multiple viewings ...
Cheers and Happy Easter!
