a storm of glitter flutters away
uselessly. but I had been too happy
with what the little bird told me
at the specific time at which it spoke
giving hope where none should ever be
a prayer ridiculous to pray
that today there would be beauty
lighting the hideously ugly
and somehow the truth will always stay
for freedom isn't free
and the past still haunts today.

I actually agree with you there. Nobody seems to understand there is a middle ground, which is what I was hinting at in the thread referring to the House resolution and the singular nature of our national debate.
