BzzzZZzzzmmmmm...
Little update here. My sleeve's as good as finished now. Have to go back tomorrow for some little touch-ups. You can have a sneak peak here, sorry about the rather blurry pic and weird position, haha... I'm not disabled
I have a month off now. Nothing special to do, a bit of relaxing; going to the Ardennes with my gf for a little week, and going to a southern region in Limburg (Holland) for 3 or 4 days. I wanted to go further away, where there's more sun and heat... but yeah... didn't happen My gf is starting with a selection procedure for a new job, and it starts also in Ocotber.
Picked up drawing lessons in the academy of arts in Gent. First lesson was quite confronting. There were a lot of people that came from other arty directions and could draw rather good already, I've been drawing as a kid and did a new initiation 2 years ago... But when I compared my drawings the others' ones, I was like "FK!" Haha... But it's already going better. Stupid thing is that I can't go every week because of my shifts at work. BUT I WANT TO DRAW, at last it's something I wanna do. I forget time then, I watch other people draw, I bite my tonge, I lear techniques, and I curse when things won't work out. Compared to my job, it feels just 'alive'.
Soooo... the jobhunt is ON, too But what? And where? I work with the VDAB right now, it's a governmental division for helping unemployed people with finding jobs and educations and stuff; so I know it isn't a golden period But I hope to find something that doesn't kill my brain any further soon.
Seems like TIAMAT is releasing a new cd/lp soon... So looking forward to hearing it!
Already loved TIAMAT since the 'Clouds' and 'Wildhoney' albums. They've got this vibe and groove going!
Last weekend I went to see BETHLEHEM and SECRETS OF THE MOON. Bethlehem was quite a revelation, I heard a few tunes of them back in the 90ies, nice dark metal. But live it was beautiful, the right notes on the right moment. Secrets of the Moon blew me away too.
The Obsessed is playing here on thursday. But I'm not sure I'll go. I'm having problems with my computer, and since I got taxes back, I'm thinking about purchasing a MacBook. Only thing that bothers me is that it's soooo darn expensive Is it worth it? IS IT?
At the end of October, Bohren & Der Club of Gore is playing in Kortrijk. Same day as DOWN plays in Antwerp. But I think I'm going to see Bohren, it's something quite different, but yet dark and gloomy. And it's in a very VERY good venue!
Check our for yourself! It's like creepy late night smokey & whiskey music
Also got my ticket for the AmenRa release show. AmenRa is a nice Belgian sludge-like collective, signed to Neurot Recordings, and they release their new cd in December in the Ancienne Belgique, one of the most well-known and most beautiful concert-locations in Belgium. That show was sold-out in 3 or 4 days, so I'm lucky I've got mine.
Their new work sounds, well, massive!
Please take a minute to take a look at these new sets:
OMNIAAA
MYTIKA A fellow, gorgeous looking belgian goddess
Linna
Laylie
Hmmm... seems like I'm promoting la douce France?!
Anyway, lads & gents... I'm going to enjoy my 2nd day of my month off work. Haha... Some work-out in 30 minutes, then to the garden-center and Ikea, and this evening: off to the academy.
Take good care & enjoy all the colours and scents of autumn!
