The Delusions of Grandeur....
I recently rediscovered a poster from the artist Dan Seagrave in my closet... it's from the Temple-series, and the work's called "Delusions of Grandeur"... this is a glimpse:
I totally love his style... this piece of art's quite psychedelic, hehe... looks like a melting trip into the subconscious or something
I first came to know Seagrave's art in the 90ies, through some nice covers of death metal albums...
Just to name but a few classics Anyway... cleaning out closets can uncover little secrets that have been kept hidden for quite a while...
Although it's summer (well, you can hardly call it 'summer' in Belgium due to the rain and greyness), I don't have any vacation. It's too busy at work, and till the end of september our schedules are marked RED... which means taking a day-off is a no go! Crap 'n doodle!
I hope to have some free time at the end of september or in october or something. I think I can use it... since my travel to Nepal in april 2010, I didn't really have a few weeks off. And all that working is getting into my bones
Last weekend we wend to Watou, a little place in the western part of Belgium, close to France... they have a poetry and art-festivel each year. Never been there before, but it was quite nice! Lots of variety, some nice works, they've got some good abbey-ale there, and it's a chill-out environment
... the good life
I could use some good gigs... damn, it have been lazy weekends lately... Where's the fuzz and the wall of sound? Where's the smoke and the roaring madness?! WHERE?!
Next week step #3 of the tattoo process... filling 2 outlined swastika's, and I hope we can start the dotwork pattern's too. Damn... it's my first tattoo, and everyone have been telling me it's addictive... but yes... I am also thinking about things I can have later on... and places... and theme's... hell... the virus has bit me
Owwww... did you guys see the new Opaque-set already?! Together with AnnaLee I suppose Opaque is the one that have been luring me into the madness of SG. Check it out:
OPAQUE
Anyway, off to the gym now... early morning in Belgium... I wish you all the best
