So, the guys at work have never tasted my cooking, and were kind of in doubt about my ability. Sooooo, dinner for everyone in my office. Korean spicy beef noodle soup with bok choi helped to knock their socks off. To top it off, I marinated 3 dozen whole shrimp and broiled them to place on top of the soup. Cilantro, basil, sirachi (rooster sauce), and lime to taste. Not so korean but to boost the freshness of what they were eating, I have a jar of Kimchi in my fridge, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna share that.
Silence, lots of eating, tons of compliments and fights over the shrimp. I'd say that was a success.
Here is the recipe for the shrimp:
1 cup Teriyaki sauce
2 lemons (juiced)
4 Tbsp Sirachi
--------
3 Tbsp rice wine vinegar
6 Tbsp olive oil
4 cloves garlic (crushed and minced)
1/2 cup of white onion (minced)
1/2 bunch of cilantro leaves (minced)
7 to 8 basil leaves (minced)
1 Tbsp Turbinado sugar
--------
You can cheat and use Italian dressing for instead of the items in the lines
Mix the marinade and season to taste (preferably in a jar with a lid to shake it). Wash whole shrimp (with the heads on, preferably), dry and dump in a glass bowl (1 gallon zip lock works also). Pour the marinade over the shrimp, stir, cover and let sit overnight or at minimum 6 hours. Pierce shrimp on soaked skewers or on a broiling pan and broil at 500 degrees in an over or BBQ. Watch them, they cook in 4 to 5 minutes. Serve with lime wedges and your favorite soy sauce. Be prepared to fight for the last one.
I offered to make beef bulgogi next Monday and my supervisor offered to pay for all the ingredients. Hell ya!!

Thank you for the comment on my set!!
I'm flattered that you think I'm SG material. It's just not right for me at the moment. Maybe one day.
Thank you for dropping by.
