Alright, time to rant about annoying Employees.
I do have to point out, in the case of us employer types. here's our situation. We can either maintain a full staff where
A)everybody gets the hours they would like
or
B)keeping the employee's starved for hours, so that they ALMOST have what they need, but are at their very minimum for making rent and food
We try to keep it at option A, and so when somebody can't come in, believe me I have to call EVERYBODY to try and come in. More often than not we just wind up short staffed.
Eventually we just hire some more people and start sliding towards policy B.
For some reason employee's seem to WANT extra shifts if they're getting enough regular hours.
Also, people who take "sick" days but have a real problem covering other peoples "sick days". People! Get a grip! What goes around comes around. Believe us, we do Track your sick days, and constant 3 day flu's on the weekends are easy to notice.
At our work it has gotten so bad with some offenders that we are considering asking them to bring a doctors note EVERY time they're ill. We know that the notes are easy to get, but at least this way we've wasted 2hrs of your time as you have to wait in the mediclinic faking an illness.
And another thing that really ticks me off....when people assume that an 8 hr shift is a MANDATORY 30 and two 15 breaks. We actually always give these, but it's really annoying when it's bone quiet, and we have 4 staff standing around gabbing.
Me "Who want's to go on their break?"
EVERYBODY " Not me, not me, not me not me"
Then it's busy and they ALL want to go.....
I've just hired 3 more staff members and it's really funny, I can see the eyebrows raise on all the ones who have been "sick" recently. They can smell the sudden cutting of their hours coming....
Ahhh the life of the dark side of the force...
On that front I also think that it's really funny when somebody has the balls to say "Actually...by the law we HAVE to get breaks every 2hrs on the hour". hhahahahahah. And even funnier, our bookstore actually lets them get by with these thoughts. If it was up to me, I'd just get rid of their scheduled breaks. Or fire their lazy asses.
Also why wouldn't you want a 45min break and a 15 on an 8 hour shift? That's what I'd like preferably. Is that just loopy?
And what level of poor physical fitness do you have to be when, you cannot stand being on your feet for that time? I'm not talkingactual handicap, just that you're so out of shape that walking around the store wears you out.
OK that's my rant, just a particularly annoying employee day is all.

I didn't have enough to spend for the Brothers Grimm Complete Fairy Tales, and Edgar Allan Poe's Complete Short Stories...so perhaps you could give me a discount when I make my adventure over to Indigo to get them after I get paid on Monday?
