i think i have figured out why i am unpopular.
people resent that i have my own thoughts and views on issues, and that i will stand by them, and defend them right down to the ground.
also, if your opinion differs from mine, and you decide to tell me, chances are good im gonna poke holes in your theory. more than likely, if you are thin skinned, im gonna make you feel kinda stupid while i do it.
i encourage people to have different opinions than me. its fun to debate an issue. i will defend your right to speak your mind right down to the ground, just like i will my own.
but please, if you have an opinion, remember its only an opinion. and have some reasonable facts to back yourself up with.
lets take this "war" thats supposed to happen in iraq.
first, its not gonna be a war. its gonna be target practice. they have no effective means to defend against our military. and, yes, i believe its necessarry to fight them. because, saddam husean with a nuclear weapon makes about as much sense as me with a bazooka in a traffic jam. eventually, its gonna lead to tears for someone.
i went to shoot pool tonight, and some guy was whining about how he was gonna get drafted. first and foremost, its not gonna go long enough for a draft to be implemented. second, there isnt gonna be a ground war to speak of. third, if there is a draft, so what? everyone has to die sometime. stop thinkin you're gonna live forever. there were 14 million americans in viet nam, and less than 51 thousand were killed.and this was against a force that actually wanted to fight. the iraqi army is full of conscriptions. which means they are there against their will, and with very little training. i have seen, first hand, that in the face of the enemy, they will lay thier rifles down and surrender with out firing a shot.
sometimes, in the course of history, many die for no reason. all the bitchin pissin and moanin isnt gonna change that.if you want to stop wars, stop people from being ego-maniacal. stop genocide. stop hating people for thier differences. until all those things stop, saddam will keep rollin over people like the kurds. he will take over the middle east, spread like a virus through africa. with a population base like that, his assaults on europe and the americas wont be far behind.if his nuclear program becomes operational, the whole world will melt, and none of us will see the sun rise again.
