Sorry in advance for the more serious post but I feel a need to use my platform for this. For those of you who are unaware, I have been planning my move to NOLA for many months now. Last week my flight landed in muggy, beautiful Louisiana as I looked forward to securing housing. Three days later I was packing my bags with tears in my eyes as a category 2 hurricane barreled directly towards me. As my partner drove towards Houston I learned it was a category three, then finally a category four. I watched in Texas as the place I had just been exploring was ripped apart by 130+mph wind. I saw streets I had just driven down days ago underwater, and apartments I had applied to have their roofs and side paneling ripped off like they were made of cardboard. I'm grieving for the city I was about to call home and now I'm not sure how long it will take before I can even think about moving there. I apologize for my inactivity- it has been a long couple of days. I am safe, which is what matters. Please consider donating to the various groups helping the community as well as any animal shelters who are inundated completely with pets left behind. Currently the entire city of New Orleans is without power and most are without water as well. There is a heat advisory and both the people and pets need your help. see the links below for more info.
***Please also stay tuned because I will be planning a livestream where all tips and donations go to handpicked individuals who need financial assistance***
