ELECTRONIC ARTS RUNS A SLAVE SHOP
Working in the video game business, I usually find that drama is at a minimum, with the announcement of a new console every few years or so offering the only true fevered pitch excitement throughout the industry as a whole.
However, everyonce in awhile a story comes along that causes quite a stir--perhaps even a bit of controversy.
When the spouse of a disgruntled Electronics Employee began blogging about the 3rd world sweatshop-like conditions that EA pushes upon their employees, the news spread throughout the industry like the borg (how's that for a geeky comment?)
This spouse has managed to thoroughly disrupt the biggest 3rd party gaming corporation in the world simply from her blog, releasing ungodly salary contracts for VPs and highter ups, and offering a real world view of the working conditions present at the company.
It's an engrossing read. Check it out.
