I'm considering starting a group devoted to pulp fiction--not the Tarantino movie, but the type of stories that originally appeared in the 20's through 50's in such magazines as Argosy, Weird Tales and Black Mask. Discussions will be open to all genres appearing in those mags (horror, science fiction, detective stories, westerns, sword and sorcery, etc.) and to the works of such great pulp writers as Robert E. Howard, H.P. Lovecraft, Raymond Chandler and Edgar Rice Burroughs.
Of course, discussion won't be limited to just magazine stories, but to movies, comics, etc.--both vintage originals and new works in the pulp tradition.
Anyone interested in joining?

Great idea for the group... I'm afraid I'll learn more than I can offer but that would be great too... I've never checked out anything but pulp noir. Got a logo yet?
I drove to my alma mater the other day and delivered the professor I dedicated it to a copy of the book. I don't think I've ever known anyone so appreciative of a gesture of adoration. Between your tenacity to get the book and his thankfulness I feel a success if it doesn't do anymore than it has. So, thanks. He's going to offer feedback and show it to the chair of the Humantities dept. Maybe something could come from that.
