today was a good day (apart from work obviously & the complete lack of valentine action 
)
Rode my mountain bike to work for a change & took the "scenic" route home. I only intended to take the quick off road alternative to my usual commute but the sun was shining, the trails were deserted & the views were stunning (the mud was deep & mixed with horse, cow & sheep shit, but there's always a downside if you look hard enough ) so I carried on a bit further than intended.
3 hours later when I'd almost reached home I bumped into an old school & work mate who I hadn't seen in 4 or 5 years. His wife is expecting twins any day & he looked equal parts ecstatically happy & terrified
. He's just moved in 5 mins up the road so I look forward to catching up with him properly (if he can spare the time anyway).
Even cleaning all the shit off of myself & my bike didn't piss me off like it usually does.
I've eaten. Got a rum & coke in hand & some blue note jazz on the stereo.
Just chilling out & thinking to myself, thank god I'm single & ,more importantly, that I don't have any kids

My housemate has now become intent on cycling across the whole of Australia, from Perth to Cairns. I don't know if I respect him for it, or think he's a bloody loony! Although it has made me want to get a bike and at least explore the local area.
