Happy new year to you all, sorry it's a little late. Although it's Chinese new year so 'Kung Hei Fat Choi!' It's all I remember form living in Hong Kong but it's a start right.
Last year was pretty shite to the family so fingers crossed this year improves.
Firstly my Mother-in-laws Breast cancer returned after 4 years and she had to have Radiotherapy which thankfully worked and she's been given the all clear, for now I guess anyway.
Then my father spiralled into a hellish nightmare starting with falling in the garden and breaking his arm. At 78 and with a failing heart, we knew it was going to be difficult, and boy was it. They wouldn't operate because of his heart and other health issues as it meant replacing his shoulder so he was just given a sling and left to his own devices. However, two days later, while still in hospital he had a heart attack which coupled with an eventual blood infection and pneumonia caused him to rapidly decline and enter a world of make believe mostly focused on our time in Hong Kong. Problem was he didn't have a clue who I was, or my brother, because in Hong Kong we'd been children, it was tough. Eventually after 2 weeks in the Hospital from hell, he'd recovered enough to come home, no use of his arm, but he was alive at least. Then he got blood poisoning caused by his diabetes and was whisked away to hospital again for another week, got home and promptly fell over and broke his hip which had to be operated on or he'd have to be bed ridden for 6 months, not an option really. Anyway it was successful and after much Physiotherapy and hard work he's now on his feet and making good progress. We've been to hell and back but fingers crossed it's all over, at least for now.
Apart from all that everyone else is doing fine, we could all just do with a very long holiday, somewhere warm, by the sea.........I can almost see it now.
I hope that life is treating everyone well and I'll finish with a song from.................Mcfly,
, why not, haven't indulged in an age.
Not sure about this one, like it but it's not their usual stuff.
Take care everyone.

What you really want to do is run off to the seaside by yourself and leave them to fend for themselves for a bit
