Success, whether I’m agreed at or not, is a difficult word for me to swallow. I equate it with selfishness, ego and crassness. Though it’s not necessarily what it looks like.
You can be these things without being successful, you might argue that it’s better to cry in a private jet than on a moped.
I’m allergic to success because it’s the product of meritocracy and is the opposite to equality. But eh, if you don’t want biased views you’re in the wrong place.
Instead of seeking success, I’m seeking satisfaction. Satisfaction can’t be taken from you because it’s a state of mind, not a set of circumstances. Wherever you are, no matter what folk say, even if you’re in prison or a slave, it’s possible to make the best of what you have.
This may seem backward to someone who equates success to happiness, but to me gratitude is the most life enriching thing! It costs nothing and anyone can have it.
