Here I sing of the vulnerability you feel when you know deep down you’re wrong about something because you’re afraid to expose your weaknesses.
Though it’s probably a difficult thing to do for a good reason, as there are plenty of people out there who will do their best to exploit these, sometimes you just can’t move forward until you address the ghosts in your life that will haunt you until you just admit they’re there.
A problem is only a problem if you don’t know it’s a problem — that’s the only power it has over you. Once you figure out what it is, that’s when you can work to fix it.
I’d encourage anyone to accept their flaws and turn them to your advantage because it’s then when nobody can use them against you. It’s the first step toward freeing your mind. Anyway, here’s the song...
A Cure For Reality
When I grow up I’ll be able
To go to bed whenever I like
Yeah, when I grow up
When I grow up I’ll be able
To cuss and swear
Because I dare
Yeah, when I grow up
How can you keep me here
Against my will?
When you know I have
Big shoes to fill
I have work to do
I have a life to live
I am more than me
I multiply
I crush my head between shrinking walls
I’ll bounce back, I always do
I set myself on fire like a decoy
Cos it’s my right to fight against the night
I have work to do
I have a life to live
I am sentient
And I multiply
Crush my head against the wall
I’ll bounce back, I always do
I set myself on fire like a decoy
If I burn bright enough I’ll light the way
To freedom
If I burn bright enough I’ll discover
A cure for reality.
